Marilyn graduated in 2006 from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy with honours, receiving an Outstanding Academic Achievement Award and Sports and Geriatrics specialties. Having worked in the insurance industry for 24 years, she has found a home in the Health Care field. Since entering Massage Therapy, Marilyn has been driven by results and success from her clients. She has continued to upgrade her skills by taking courses in Shiatsu, Myofascial Release, Thai Massage, Strain Counterstrain, Orthopedic Massage, Advanced Laser Therapy for Musculoskeletal Pain and Chronic Pain, Kinesiology Taping Certification and Anatomy Trains.
She is a Certified Bioflex Laser Therapist and has successfully treated sprains, strains, fractures, wounds, osteoarthritis, disc herniations, sciatica, nerve impingements, plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, spinal stenosis, tendon calcification, bursitis, bone spurs and long covid symptoms.
Marilyn incorporates a variety of techniques including Shiatsu, Myofascial release, Cupping Therapy, Trigger Point release, Strain Counterstrain / Positional Release and Deep Tissue techniques. Your treatment will depend on your comfort level, your medical history and your experiences.
Marilyn was awarded Waterloo Chronicle's Best Massage Therapist: Diamond Award in 2023, Diamond Award in 2022, Gold in 2021, Gold in 2019 and Diamond in 2018 and KW Record's Best Massage Therapist in the Region: Gold Award in 2012.
